Furla Flashback Friday

furla chicago

With the weekend literally breathing down our necks, what better way to celebrate than with a bit of #FlashbackFriday (you know, #tbt’s first cousin)?

Last month, I co-hosted the Glossed and Found + Furla Haute Happy Hour event (remember?) with a bevy of local beauties. Not only was it a great opportunity for everyone to get all dressed up, mingle with friends and ogle over Furla’s new Fall collection, but it was also a kickoff for the new  Thompson Chicago x FURLA Handbag Lending Program.

Haute and Happy with FURLA + Glossed and Found

furla collage revised

Dress | Shoes | Necklace

You know what happens when you bring together some of Chicago’s most fashionable women for a photo shoot? Magic.

As one of the co-hosts for the Haute Happy Hour with Furla and Glossed and Found this Thursday (keep scrolling for details), I was asked to join my fellow fashionistas for a little street style shoot. Being photographed by co-host, Helen Berkun, was a blast. It was quite possibly the most fun I’ve had in River North in awhile.

Shop My Closet at the Milwaukee Blogger Bazaar

If ever you needed a reason to round up the girls for a mini road trip, I’ve got three words for you:  Milwaukee. Blogger. Bazaar.

On June 14, I will be joining eight of the area’s best fashion and personal style bloggers to sell some of the highly coveted items in our closets. Thanks to our lovely host, Livia Borger of Love Always Liv, we now have a chance to share our great finds with our readers (and anyone else who loves fashion and good deals).

I’ve already started rounding up the goods. And let’s just say, there will be plenty of shoes (23 and counting), handbags (20 and counting) and jewelry (I stopped counting) on hand. Below is a sneak peek of some of the shoes you could get your hands on at the Milwaukee Blogger Bazaar, many of which will be priced as low as $30.

For the (Shoe)Lover In You

dsw collage final

A shoe shopping party with deep discounts, complimentary gift cards, food and drinks? As co-host of the recent #ChiShoeLoverParty at DSW in Lakeview (along with Dana of  Possessionista and Nicki of FashionistaChicago), let’s just say it didn’t take much persuasion to get our guests excited about celebrating the newly remodeled store.

After stuffing our faces with good eats from FIG catering, DSW’s own Regina Smith Popp broke down all the latest trends in footwear (bold colored pumps, slip-on sneakers and blinged out sandals). You know, for those in need of a little guidance before tackling the aisles upon aisles of shoes.

It’s Official, I’m a Keeper

keep feature

Now that my much needed blogging vacay is over, it’s time to ring in the New Year with my first feature of 2014 and my latest addiction. Keep reading and you’ll find out how they’re one in the same.

A few months ago, I was introduced to a site (and app) by the name of I signed up then, but was relatively inactive until Christmas rolled around. Known as the shopping version of Pinterest, I figured it would be the best way to compile my wishlist for those looking to gift me something for the holidays (hubby actually relied heavily on my “All I Want For Christmas Is…” collection for ideas).

Needless to say, when Keep asked if they could feature me in their Guest Stylist series, it was a no brainer. The only problem is, I had to curate a collection of at least 50 items I was currently lusting after. Who knew that would be so hard? Of course anyone could go on one site (i.e. ASOS, Net-A-Porter) and find 50 things they wouldn’t mind being delivered to their doorstep. However, the pressure (in my mind) was on, to create the most interesting and visually pleasing collection possible. I mean, I was following in the footsteps of magazine editors, television personalities and renowned bloggers. It was time to step my virtual shopping game up!

iristocracy collage edit

In recent years, eyewear has gone from “just functional” to “also fashionable”. It is now considered an accessory for those of us with less than perfect eyesight. Newly-launched website,, totally gets it and allows consumers to shop for new frames and other accessories (i.e. jewelry, handbags and scarves) in one spot.

Skip the Mall and Shop These Local Holiday Markets This Weekend

RSM crowd 2

With the holiday shopping season in full swing, it’s hard not to visit a department store or mall to pick up something for everyone on your list. But this weekend, there are three local shopping events (in three completely different neighborhoods) that aim to redefine the term “one stop shop” by exposing shoppers to handmade and one-of-a-kind items you simply won’t find anywhere else.

Breaking Down Four of Chicago’s “Hot Spots”

Today, I’m partnering with Marc Jacobs and Glam to share with you a few “hot spots” in Chicago. No, we’re not talking about places where you can come up on some free wifi. This is all about the spots that provide the best of what Chicago has to offer.

Narrowing it down to four proved to be quite difficult, but I’m never one to back down from  a challenge. With that being said, here are four destinations that should be on everyone’s “to-do” list, locals and tourists alike.

Luxury Garage Sale

1658 N. Wells St

MJ hotspot7

I hate to use the term “one stop shop”, but there really is no better way to describe Luxury Garage Sale. High-end consignment, discount designer goods, and vintage accessories are all here for the picking. What used to be an eBay-only store is now one of the most immaculate shopping destinations in the city. I’ve spent many of days perusing the racks, which always ends with me trying to figure out what I can consign to help pay for the slew of things I want in the store. It’s a revolving door of fashion retail, and a well-organized one at that. Shop owners Brielle Buchberg and Lindsay Segal have a keen eye for statement pieces, which means the store is filled with the stuff ideal wardrobes are made of.

Not yet sold on how great this store is? Just follow their Instagram account. It will ultimately result in you jumping out of your pajamas one morning to rush down there and grab whatever it is before it’s gone (one of my readers actually did that recently for a Celine Nano crossbody bag). You’ve been warned.

Nordstrom YOUphoria, Achieved

The Nordstrom YOUphoria event went down last week at Nordstrom in Oak Brook and it was indeed a great time. I, along with my fellow YOUphoria Fashion Face-off bloggers, had a chance to mingle with our readers and supporters while grubbing on some insanely good food (hello, apple pie in a jar), enjoying the sounds of DJ Wizz Kid, having a little fun with the high-tech TapSnap photo booth and shopping, of course.

Of course, the winner of the style showdown was announced. If you followed along on Instagram and Twitter, you know that Natalie took home the grand prize (a big congrats to her!).  Jen and I also walked away with a little something, something. So all is truly fair in love and (style) war.
