Ready, Set, Blow: DreamDry Opens in Chicago

DreamDry Chicago

Chicago! DreamDry (904 W. Armitage is here, just in time to make you beautiful for all of your holiday parties or to provide the ultimate in glamorous gifts for that special fashionista on your list.

I had the opportunity to attend DreamDry’s grand opening last week, to tour the salon and to try out the services – all three left me wowed and in a dream-cloud of glamour and hairspray.

DreamDry is truly a haven for the beautiful-hair-obsessed. The gorgeous salon space is set just off the street, and nestled between the various boutiques on Armitage in Lincoln Park. Inside, the surroundings are classic and clean in black and white. Each station is set up with a luxe leather seat for you to get cozy in while you peruse the style menu on your own personal iPad. Once you choose the style of blowout you’d like, you can sit back, relax and browse your favorite fashion magazines while the stylist takes good care of you. I chose a messy and chic wavy blowout for shorter hair – the Stevie – and it lasted for three days. I loved it!

Facetune (1) And did I mention the VIP room? Upstairs, is a luxuriously lit private space, set aside for those in need of some very special VIP treatment – the room is perfect for a bridal party or a special occasion shared among a few girlfriends.

One of the other amazing elements of the salon is actually the beautiful bathrooms! Tiled with mirrored walls and scented with Jonathan Adler candles, you might just linger a little longer to stare at your blowout in these glorious surroundings.

The brainchild of Robin Moraetes and celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, DreamDry truly lives up to its invitation to Make Every Day Glamorous. The boutique  salon offers 18 hairstyles, including several braids and up-dos, all delivered in a luxe environment by well-trained professionals.

I asked one of the stylists what separates DreamDry from other salons, she replied, “consistency.” All DreamDry stylists go through an intensive training course to learn and master all 18 looks – ensuring that they deliver the same service whether you’re in one of the three New York locations or in Chicago (the first shop in the Midwest, by the way).

What’s more, DreamDry offers memberships and special package deals with plenty of perks to boot. Memberships start at $115/month for 3 blowouts and $225/month for 6. In addition, members receive complimentary treatments, birthday surprises, exclusive invitations to sample sales, cocktail soirees and styling events – plus any additional blowouts come at a discounted rate. If you’re looking to gift the DreamDry experience, the Glamour Packs start at $155 for 4 blowouts, and can be purchased in bundles of 4, 8, 12 or 20. The package will never expire and can be used whenever you like. All visitors can participate in their Loyalty Program which rewards you with one premier point for every dollar spent that can be traded for free blowouts, hair products and access to VIP events.

When it comes to retail, DreamDry carries only Kerastase and Oribe – two product lines with huge fashionista followings and real track records of delivering high-end styling results. In addition, you can purchase your very own Dream Dryer, Jonathan Adler candles and stylish accessories (coming soon!).

Though I am a professionally trained hairstylist, I’ll be the first one to admit that blow drying one’s own hair is one of the most challenging efforts of each day. You practically need a third arm just to get volume on top, right?! In other words, a professional blow-dry is not just a luxury, it’s a necessity! Book your appointment at DreamDry today to get yours.

Special thanks to DreamDry and Zapwater PR for our service and tour of the facilities.
