Because Every Shopping Trip Needs Blacklane Car Service

Shopping trip (noun) – an opportunity to bond with friends while searching for the best deals, a new wardrobe, the perfect pair of shoes, et cetera, et cetera.

It’s also the perfect way to try out car service with Blacklane, an international limousine company that has now made its way to Chicago. A few weeks ago, I rounded up a few of my best fashion friends (a new spin on BFFs) and planned a journey to the Fashion Outlets of Chicago.

Scheduling the car in advance was quite simple. Since I had to pick up someone along the way, I chose the hourly service (you can also do Transfer service, which is ideal for direct transportation to airports or events). After filling out a few details, I was given an estimate and allowed to select my vehicle of choice. It was all done online, in less than 10 minutes.**

9:30am:    The ladies arrive at my house, where I provide them with popcorn and pralines for the trip.

10:00am:  Our driver arrives in a roomy Cadillac Escalade, giving us the best of both worlds – luxury and style.

11:00am:  After a smooth ride to the Fashion Outlets and a quick group pic, it is time to do some damage.

I encourage the crew to start at Last Call Neiman Marcus and Barneys Warehouse. These two stores have the best designer finds in the mall, which makes it easy to take advantage of all the discounts.

12:00pm:  We decide to stick together and tackle each store, one by one. This includes stops in Bloomingdale’s (someone lucked up on a classic pair of Dior pumps), Vince (we all managed to find something we couldn’t leave without), DvF, Longchamp, Gucci, Halston Heritage, LK Bennett and Joe’s Jeans (two of the BFFs almost missed out on lunch for being in there so long).

2:00pm:   We take a much-needed lunch break at Villagio Ristorante. Upon checking in with the host, he proceeds to take all of our shopping bags, walks them (and us) to our table and places all the bags in chairs next to our table. We are in love.

2:45pm:  With only 45 minutes left to shop before the chauffeur arrives, we conclude that the food at Villagio is so good that we want to spend the rest of our time indulging in dessert and good conversation. Mental note: Add on a couple more hours of shopping time for the next go ‘round.

3:15pm:  On our way back to the entrance, we pass Saks Off 5th and realize that we never stopped inside. We search through the racks at lightning speed (there was a “buy 1 clearance item, get 2 free” sale we just couldn’t ignore).

3:45pm:  After searching the racks and ogling over the deeply discounted Burberry coats, we finally head to the car (15 minutes later than expected, oops!).

3:50pm:  We get to the car and I proceed to setup a nice shot for all the shopping bags. Shouts to our driver who graciously assisted me.

5:00pm:  We arrive at my house and start planning for the next shopping trip.

Blacklane made a repeat customer out of me that day. Sure, there may be other ways to book car service on the spot. But when you want to schedule it in advance, Blacklane is definitely the easiest way to go.

Wondering when to plan your next shopping trip?  Blacklane. Black Friday. Just saying.

Sounds like an awesome way to go shopping. This would be great when needing an SWV instead of a car for larger purchases.
