6 Last Minute Gift Ideas for The Dapper Gent

Raise your hand if you’re a procrastinator? *raises both hands*

You are not alone. The Holidays are here, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve yet to buy gifts for everyone on your list. Don’t worry, it’s not too late.

Sometimes it can be just as difficult shopping for the men in your life as it is shopping for women. Men are often a little bit more reserved about what they would like as gifts, making it hard to determine whether your purchase is a keeper or a stocking fail. Whether he’s hard to buy for or not big on gifts, one of these six finds under $50 will be the perfect stocking stuffer for the man or men in your life. They are all available in local stores. So, there’s no need to pay insane shipping costs for speedy delivery.

1. FOSSIL® Estate Coasters $50

FOSSIL® is known for their rich, authentic leather, and these Estate coasters are the perfect gift for a man with classic taste. Each coaster is embossed with images reflective of the sophisticated gentleman, such as a pair of oxfords, a bow tie and a mustache.

2. Jojo and Sofia Brass Stache Tie Clip $28 or CHI CTA Cuff Links $38

Local blogger, Sarah Sebastian, recently launched JoJo and Sofia, a men’s vintage revival accessories line. She had me at “vintage revival.” Sebastian uses quirky and unconventional pairings to bring to life a touch of the past. These one-of-a-kind pieces, ranging from cuff links made of vintage Chicago CTA transit coins to a mustache tie clip, are definitely gifts that any man would cherish.

Items can be found at Sir and Madame (938 N. Damen).

3.  Solo Noir Travel Shaving Kit $25

Skin care for men is important, although it’s often overlooked. Solo Noir is a complete grooming line for ethnic men featuring 100 percent organic 2-in-1 grooming products to make grooming simple. Shaving isn’t an issue that I have to tackle, but if the man in your life does, get him groomed in style.

4. Target® Men’s 26 Piece Tool Kit $12.99

Every man is not a handyman, but it doesn’t hurt to make the man in your life feel a little handy every now and again. This 26 piece tool kit from Target is the perfect way to get the man in you life to do a little work around the house — he may not fix much, but let him tinkle with a few projects.

Available in Target stores.

5. C.O. Bigelow Elixir Blue $19.50

I’m not big on cologne, but I’m in love with C.O. Bigelow’s Elixir Blue fragrance. Believe it or not, my mother turned me onto this refreshing blend of aqua marine, lavender and rosemary, and woody undertones a few years ago. Since then, this elixir has been my go-to fragrance because it’s not too loud, yet not to subtle.

Available in Bath and Body Works stores.

6. Anonymous Ism Argyle Crew Grey $22

Socks don’t get as much play as they should; something as simple as a pair of white athletic socks could kill even the best tailored outfit. Help your guy make better decisions by updating his sock collection, enhancing his style one step at a time…literally.

Available at Sir and Madame (938 N. Damen).

What will you be gifting to your dapper gent this year?
